The Lower Columbia Economic Development Council (LCEDC) invites you to Wahkiakum County and Naselle, WA, where six communities wait to welcome you. Location The Lower Columbia EDC is located in southwest Washington state and represents all of Wahkiakum County along with the community of Naselle in the southeastern portion of Pacific County. The eastern boundary of the area is located 65 miles northwest of Portland, Oregon, 145 miles southwest of Seattle, Washington, and 25 miles west of Interstate 5 at Longview, Washington. State Highway 4 runs the length of the area from Interstate 5 on the east to U.S. Highway 101 on the west. Topography Wahkiakum County is comprised of 261 square miles and most of the land area is mountainous and heavily forested, lying within the Willapa Hills province of the Coast Range. The southern portion of the county consists of gentler hills and level floodplains. Elevation of the county ranges from less than 10 feet above sea level along the Columbia River to approximately 2,000 feet in the northern two-thirds of Wahkiakum county. Want to Know More?
