Welcome to the Lower Columbia River in scenic Southwest Washington...
...where there's time for work and time for play!

Population
River Life Interpretive Center and Museum offers a history of people who settled in this region - where they came from, what they did, and how they lived. Photo by Erick Erickson, Cathlamet, WA There's lots of elbow room in in the Lower Columbia Region and there are no stoplights anywhere in Wahkiakum County!

The majority of people in the Lower Columbia EDC area live in rural and unincorporated areas. The Town of Cathlamet, county seat of Wahkiakum County, is the only incorporated entity, although other communities with small concentrations of population include Puget Island, Elochoman Valley, Skamokawa, Grays River, Rosburg, Deep River, Altoona, and Naselle.

According to the 2000 US Census, 3,824 people live in Wahkiakum County and the estimated population for 2008 is 4,100. Of those, 565 live in the Town of Cathlamet and about 798 live on Puget Island. Within the LCEDC area, an additional 377 people live in the town of Naselle. For more detailed information, try this link:
